UPSC IES/ISS Recruitment 2026  Selection Process

The examination will be conducted according to the prescribed scheme. Part I will comprise a written examination carrying a total of 1000 marks on the subjects outlined in the detailed notification. In Part II, the Union Public Service Commission will conduct a personality test (interview) for shortlisted candidates, carrying a maximum of 200 marks. All question papers for the Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Service Examination will be of the conventional essay type, except for Statistics Paper I and Paper II, which will be objective in nature.

Female candidates, as well as those belonging to SC, ST, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories, are exempt from paying the application fee. All other applicants must pay a fee of Rs 200 for the Indian Economic Service or Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2026.
